MIUI V4 for i9000 - DISCONTINUED

Hi All

If like me you're frustrated that the i9000 seems to have been overlooked when it comes to the latest MIUI v4 goodness, then this is the ROM for you.

I've used the MIUIANDROID Nexus S ROM as a base and ported it to the i9000.

A big thanks to Mark and the Team for giving permission for me to release this to the world.

I hope you like it? It's by no means perfect, but it's getting there..

It includes the ICS control panel, my version of the Extended Power Menu and extended Launcher settings.

Installation Instructions :-

Upgrading from Gingerbread MIUI.

• Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (VolumeUp+Home+Power)
• Do a Nandroid Backup or your choice backup application (optional)
• WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
• Install the ROM from internal sdcard
• At this point it will restart and continue boot looping – DO NOT PANIC!!
• Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo (VolumeUp+Home+Power)
• Install the ROM from internal sdcard a second time.
• Done/reboot

The ROM comes with a choice of Kernels, choose choose the one you want during the install.

Issues that I know of..

New Weather Widgets don't work. This is an issue in the Nexus S ROM.

You tell me!! If issues are reported I'm happy to look into them as long as they don't exist in the base Nexus S ROM

Questions & Answers : If after reading this you still have an issue then please report it. Please provide the following information, the version you are using, the error and if possible a logcat. Statements like "It's not working" will most likely be ignored!!

-I Cant see any music in the Music Player or any photos in the Gallery !
Go to settings => Apps => Clear data from Google Framework, Media Storage and Gallery. Then Reboot and wait about 30mins it's all going to be alright !

-Some settings of my theme can't be changed !
Create an empty folder named /data/system/theme and reboot

-Where can I find Language pack for last versions !?
Look at post #2 if not LP for last version, that means it doesn't exist just be patient and stop asking about it !

-Where can I find DPI setting !?
DPI setting is present only for 2.6.29 and above look in the ICS control Panel for the option.

-I'm in a bootloop and I've lost recovery what can I do !?
Read this post again ! If doesn't help, wipe and restart installation instructions.

-I'm from XXXXX Rom, can I flash it ?!
If you're on a I9000 SGS, you can. Read instructions !

-I got all my app FC what can I do !?
Flash this datafix

I can't use ADB? - Type "adb root" then use adb as normal.

Why would I want to use the Odex version? - The Odexed version will give you slightly faster boot times, Apps will start faster and space will be saved in /data/dalvik-cache. On the downside, you won't be able to apply language packs and modifying system files is more difficult..

Why can't I see the GMail Icon? - It's no longer included, Just download from the Play Store..


Wi-Fi tethering isn't working? - Open the Semaphore App turn Netfilter off then back on again. Then Reboot.

I have tested all the V4 i900 roms out there... but this is in a different league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i trust ur work and i trust marks work (thats why im here) but its so fluid and crisp... im not even gonna upgrade my sgs... this is a winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must open up Superuser/LBESEC and tick the checkbox "Allow apps to request root". Then titanium and any other app requesting ROOT will work.

For users having Superuser/Root Issues - Please installed Superuser app from android market.

Once installed do the following :

open app
press menu
preferences
su binary (tap to check for updates and update su

and then your good to go.

LBESEC should be used, if there is an issue there it would be good to see some error logs from adb logcat. Post them to http://logcat.miuiandroid.com for further feedback and post the link to logs here.

Thanks for the Logcat, it really helps. I think I see the issue with the Camera. I'll try to get a fix out as soon as I can.
