Best way to root Desire S 2.3.5?

    I have never rooted a phone and see so many different ways to do it. Please could some one tell me the best and most simple method of rooting my phone.

    Hi thanks for your reply. I'm a bit confused because when i hold down the volume key and power. the screen says
    that my phone is locked at the top, but then its says the phone is S-OFF already. So im not sure where to start and exactly which method to use. The reason i want to root is so i can backup my app data with titanium backup as i believe theres no way to backup app data without rooting.
    I was looking in to the revolutionary method but that's not compatible with my HBOOT.

    Is that normal for some phones to already be S-OFF because I certainly didn't do it.
    Should I now root with GingerBreak or Superoneclick method?

    Run the applications with Admin (if on windows). Try the USB connection on USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 if needed.
